Carney, Malone power Lynx past Stearns in OT

LINCOLN – Jon Carney and Matt Malone each scored four points in overtime as Mattanawcook Academy built a nine-point lead and outlasted Stearns 73-64 in boys basketball action Tuesday night.

Carney finished with a team-high 19 points and 14 rebounds, Malone netted 11 points, and Wayne Berry added 10 for the Lynx.

Derek DiFrederico and Kevin McLaughlin connected for 21 and 20 points, respectively, to pace the Minutemen of Millinocket.
