HOWLAND – Jessica Plourde connected for 15 points Wednesday night and Searsport overcame a five-point deficit to eke out a 43-41 schoolgirl basketball victory over Penobscot Valley of Howland.

Holly Gracie contributed 13 points for the winners.

Meagan Cyr led the way for the Howlers with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Kylie McGinn notched 12 points.

At Red Barry Gym in Bangor, Erinne Magee racked up 11 points in the third quarter on three 3-pointers and a pair of free throws as Bangor pulled away from John Bapst of Bangor.

The Rams had a 25-21 advantage at the half, but outscored the Crusaders 24-14 in the third to build a 14-point advantage. Katherine Miller scored nine points in the final period to help preserve the win.

Magee finished with 21 points and Miller turned in 18 points, eight rebounds and five steals. Ashley Tower pitched in with 10 points.

Nicole Yeo paced the Crusaders with 14 points.
