Shields FTs lift SAHS to win over Katahdin

DYER BROOK – Corey Shields nailed a pair of free throws with 13 seconds remaining Wednesday night to lift Southern Aroostook to a 74-72 schoolboy basketball victory over Katahdin of Sherman Station.

Shields finished with 28 points and 20 rebounds. Corey Edkins added 21 points and Lucas Nadeau contributed 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Dustin Heath poured in 26 points, including eight 3-pointers, to pace the Cougars. Thomas Rodgerson and Doug Rodgerson scored 18 and 17 points, respectively.

Stevens finished with 20 points, 18 in the second half, and Reynolds scored 15. Bobby Richardson and Matt Gibson pitched in with 11 apiece.

Chris Correll garnered 19 and Joe Richards put in 14 for the Bulldogs.
