Bangor’s Jesse Speirs overcame cold temperatures, rain and high winds to post a two-round total of 160 and a fourth place finish in the boys 14-15-years-old division at the Kiawah Island, S.C. stop on the Plantation Junior Golf Tour.
Speirs’ rounds of 78 and 82 were also good for 10th place overall out of 95 golfers participating in the tournament.
Kenny Leech of Boca Raton, Fla. was the overall winner of the tourney with 73-79 for a 152 total. Robert Riesen of Pinehurst, N.C. won the 14-15 boys division with rounds of 72 and 81 for a total of 153.
