ELLSWORTH – Juanita G. Higgins of Ellsworth was installed as 2002 president of the Hancock-Washington Board of Realtors. Higgins is a sales associate with Town & Country Realtors in Ellsworth.
The installation was held at the Surry Inn during the annual Realtors holiday party.
Higgins joined the board in 1989. She served as board president in 1995 and was named Realtor of the year in both 1998 and 2000. Higgins has served on the board of directors of both the Hancock-Washington Board of Realtors and the Downeast Multiple Listing Service. She chaired the education committee for several years and has served on various other committees over the years.
Also active in the community, Higgins is a member of the Committee on Ministry for the Hancock-Waldo Association of the United Church of Christ; chairwoman of the diaconate, member of the sanctuary choir, and member of other church committees of the First Congregational Church of Ellsworth.
Higgins has served as vice president of the board of directors for Hancock County Habitat for Humanity.
She began her term Jan. 1, succeeding Carol M. Beaven of Blue Hill.
