On Jan. 1 you reported on the emergency landing at Bangor International Airport by a United Airlines flight. My wife and I were on that flight, on our way home to Cambridge, England, after spending the holidays with my wife’s family in Idaho.
We would like to thank the staff at BIA and the Holiday Inn, Odlin Road, who were roused from their beds at 1 a.m. on New Year’s Eve morning to help more than 200 stranded passengers. The crew of United Airlines Flight 928 also deserve the highest praise for their calm and professional behavior in an emergency.
Before our unexpected landing at BIA, my wife had never been farther east in the United States than North Dakota. Now we have both visited your beautiful state, and we look forward to coming back to spend a real vacation sometime soon.
