Steve Day of Bangor has joined the Kleinschmidt Associates’ Maine office as an electrical-mechanical engineer. Day, who joins Kleinschmidt’s design team, previously worked at Eastern Fine Paper in Brewer, where he supervised the electrical and mechanical operations. He has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Northeastern University and has worked in the paper industry for 16 years.

Maine Public Broadcasting has hired Carter Davidson as associate producer-director for television. Davidson, who has most recently been working as a free-lance production assistant for Maine PBS on its “Road Diaries” series, has joined the television department full time. Davidson, of Bethel, will edit and direct a variety of Maine PBS special projects, including “Road Diaries,” “Youth Voices,” “The Maine Art Museum Trail” and high school basketball.

Maine Mutual Fire Insurance Co., based in Presque Isle, has promoted Paul Madigan to programmer-analyst, and Kyle Green to network administrator. Madigan began his career with Maine Mutual in 1995. He attended the University of Maine and University of Southern Maine, majoring in electrical engineering.

Green came to Maine Mutual in 1999 as a seasonal employee and stayed on to fill the position of computer operator. In January 2001, he was promoted to systems technician.
