Note to Ram fans

I am writing in response to the way the Bangor fans acted during Thursday’s game between the Bangor and Nokomis varsity boys basketball teams.

The fans have yet to understand the role of the referee, and blame the refs for Bangor’s loss. The refs had nothing to do with Bangor’s loss; Bangor lost the game on their own and they have no one to blame but themselves. The Bangor boys lost the game on: missed foul shots, poor shot decision, turnovers, and bad defense in the second half. That is certainly not the refs’ fault. Did the Bangor fans ever think of that?

Instead of the fans yelling (and you know who you are) “Hey, ref, want to borrow my glasses?” and “Why don’t you even out the fouls?”, why don’t you so-called “fans”, read a rule book, take the referee test, and pass the test by getting seven or less wrong (I bet all you “fans” didn’t know that)? And then maybe you “fans” will have the right to question the referees’ calls, but until then, stop complaining, let the refs do their job, and thank them the next time Bangor wins!
