MILO – Dustin Paige led the Dexter Tigers with 23 points as they knocked off Penquis 58-45 in schoolboy basketball action Tuesday night.

Travis Patterson had 14 points for the Tigers, and Erik Cooley added 10.

At Newport, Ryan McLellan netted 25 points and had six steals to help carry the Warriors to the win.

At Caribou, Joel Griffeth sank a couple of clutch free throws with 16 seconds left to expand the lead to three and the Vikings held on, surviving a Jason Frenette basket with 10 seconds left.

Caribou avenged a 58-55 setback in Houlton on Dec. 13.

Griffeth finished with 24 points, including 13 in the second quarter to help Caribou overcome a five-point deficit. Tyler Giles notched 20 with eight of those coming in the fourth quarter.

Frenette’s game-high 25 points and James Skehan’s 14 paced Houlton.
