A.J. Hayes
Hayes, a senior forward and captain for Brewer’s hockey team, had four goals and five assists in three games last week. Hayes helped lead the Witches to a 3-0 record in that span.
Small School (Classes C-D)
Derek DiFrederico
Stearns of Millinocket’s 5-foot-10 sophomore guard scored a career-high 34 points, including the game-winning hoop with 10 seconds left against Houlton. He also scored 21 in an overtime loss to Mattanawcook.
Girls
Big School (Classes A-B)
Chantelle Haggerty
The Hermon senior is ranked first in all of her events (60 meters, 200, 400, and pole vault) in the Eastern Maine Indoor Track League. Haggerty has finished first in eight of the nine events she has competed in so far.
Small School (Classes C-D)
Shelby Pickering
The 5-foot-9 freshman forward for Lee Academy had 33 points and 19 rebounds combined in two wins for the Pandas, who are 9-1 and No. 1 in the Class D Northeast basketball rankings.
