LINCOLN – Jaide Littlefield’s layup with less than a minute to play gave Mattanawcook Academy a one-point lead en route to a 50-45 schoolgirl basketball victory over Central Friday night.
Jennifer Harvey iced the win by making four straight free throws down the stretch.
Harvey finished with 15 points, including a 10-for-11 effort from the line. Shannon Pietras added 11.
Katie Ahearn notched 14 points to lead the Red Devils of Corinth. Jenny Rollins added 12 and Crystal Parker nine.

At Mount Desert, Kyle Jones drained three 3-pointers in the third period and Mount Desert Island connected on 19 of 22 free throws in the fourth period to turn back Sumner of East Sullivan.
The Trojans outscored the Tigers 12-6 in the third behind Jones’ effort to cut the Sumner lead to one heading into the final period.
MDI built a 53-50 lead with a minute to go, and Jones connected on 9 of 9 free throws to seal the win. Sumner’s Jamey Polk scored nine of his 17 points in the fourth to keep his team close.
Brandon Colbeth led the Trojans with 19 points and Jones finished with 18, all in the second half. Ryan Colbeth chipped in with 10.
