Ashley Brooker leads Limestone

LIMESTONE – Ashley Brooker pumped in a game-high 21 points to help the Limestone Eagles soar past the Wisdom Pioneers 82-24 in schoolgirl basketball action Thursday night.

Tracy Weatherhead tossed in 14 points for Limestone/Maine School of Science and Math. Nikki Michaud notched 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Ericka Bradford led the Eagles in rebounding with 11.

Heather Anderson sparked the Pioneers of St. Agatha with 13.

At Van Buren, Kristine Cyr and Kay Gerard sank six foul shots apiece in the fourth quarter to help Madawaska hold off the rallying Crusaders.

The win avenged a home loss to Van Buren 49-46 on Jan. 4.

Cyr finished with 19 points, Meghan Marshall contributed 15 and Gerard tossed in 10 points for the winners.

Nicole Corbin’s game-high 21 points, Michelle Parent’s 14 points and 14 rebounds and Danielle Gagnon’s 10 points led Van Buren.

At the Old Town YMCA, James Godley poured in his 1,500th career point as the Vikings of Danforth trounced the Eagles.

Godley tossed in 27 points, had seven steals, and dished out eight assists for East Grand. He is around 67 points away from the school scoring record of 1,567 set by Shelly Page in 1994.

Josh Faulkner pumped in 17 points for the Vikings. Darius Parker contributed 12.

Rory Diffin sparked Islesboro with 22 points and David Pike notched 11.

Chris Correll topped Machias with 11 points, and Joe Richards and Luke Leahy added 10 each.
