MILBRIDGE – The Washington Hancock Community Agency has funds available for the 2001-2002 fuel assistance year.

Applicants who have not done a fuel application since last July or to receive more information should call (800) 828-7544 between 7:30 a.m. and noon, or 667-3613 from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, except holidays, to make an appointment at the nearest location.

Since October, WHCA has issued $1.6 million in benefits to 4000 households in Washington and Hancock counties. WHCA expects to take applications from 6,500 households during this heating season.

WHCA will supply applicants with all the information to determine eligibility for those not sure if they are eligible.
