This is concerning the ridiculous expenditures of Gov. King’s proposed seventh-grade computer project at the expense of the citizens of Maine in need.
Today, we hear so much about “today’s youth not caring about anything but themselves … the instant gratification society … I want it now … I can’t wait.” That’s what we are teaching them.
I can’t wait for my turn for the computer already in my school; I can’t bother to go to the library in my town; I really don’t care if there are sick kids or adults or homeless people who need help. Yes, it starts in our schools – in seventh grade when kids bring guns to school and don’t value human life – and we wonder why?
I am a teacher and value education very highly, but not above human life.
