WATERVILLE – Erin Lovely buried six 3-pointers on her way to 36 points Wednesday night as Thomas College edged conference rival UMaine-Farmington 104-96 in double overtime in a Maine Athletic Conference women’s basketball game at Mahaney Gym.
Tonya Cray was 10 of 10 from the foul line, totaling 22 points, and had nine rebounds. Kati Morrell and Malorie Leclerc chipped in with 15 points each while Courtney Corbett contributed 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Megan Woodcock sparked the Beavers with 18 points and eight rebounds. Jocelyn Sawyer pumped in 17 points and hauled down eight rebounds. Kate LaHaye provided 14 points and eight boards.
Cheryl Kempton tossed in 12 points, Amanda Pepin had 10 and Rachel Bard snatched eight steals.

At Presque Isle, Rachel Larlee poured in 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the Owls defeated the Braves for the first time in seven years (1993-94 season).
Sam Berry notched nine points and seven rebounds in the first half before leaving the game with a knee injury. The Owls sank 15 of 16 free throws (93 percent) in the second half. Erica McGary pumped in 12 points.
Meghan Hughes sparked Husson of Bangor with 17 points. Kelly Dow added 10.

At Mahaney Gym in Waterville, Nathan Haynie connected on 10 of 11 3-point attempts on his way to 31 points to spark the Beavers to victory.
Jon Bird scored 13 points and James Malley netted 12 for UMaine-Farmington, which built a 30-point halftime lead. The Beavers shot 56 percent from the field, hitting 14 of 23 3-pointers (61 percent).
Jimmy Cardaci paced Thomas with 14 points and Nik Ray contributed 11 for the Terriers.
