What do you think of the 6- to 10-year prison sentence for Thomas Junta, the hockey dad convicted of involuntary manslaughter?

I thought it was fair. When it’s all said and done, he killed somebody.

Shawnee Treadwell, Auburn

I don’t think it was nearly enough – the fact that he just kept beating him. He should have gotten more than 6 to 10.

Matt Gove-Dupont, Orono

I think it should have been more. He killed a guy.

Andrea Steranko, Orono

I think they were way too strict considering the fact that it was in self-defense.

Chris Cloutier, Lewiston

I think it’s appropriate just because a man died.

Meaghan Walsh, Old Town

It might have been a little harsh, but it really shouldn’t have happened either.

Chris Caruso, East Corinth

I think it’s appropriate. I think it focuses attention that there shouldn’t be parental violence in youth sports.

Shana Goodall, Orono

It might possibly have been a bit lenient. Granted it wasn’t pre-meditated, but he did take someone’s life.

Paul Culina, Orono
