BLUE HILL – The Bucksport boys basketball team nailed 12 of 15 free-throw attempts in the fourth period, including a 7-for-8 effort by Jason Harvey, to hold off George Stevens Academy 58-51 Saturday in high school action.

Harvey finished with 23 points and was 12-for-15 from the line for the game. Corey Guilford added 11 for the Golden Bucks, who picked up their 15th win.

For the Eagles, Ryan Hutchins netted 17 and Mark Clapp tallied 11.

At Old Town, the Indians outscored the Vikings 10-2 in the final two minutes to rally for the win.

Shawn Kenniston completed a 4-point play with about 1:30 left. He finished with 24 points, including the 1,000th of his career, which he scored in the first quarter. Jeremy Stormann came off the bench for 11 points.

Josh Caldwell contributed a goal and two assists for the Witches, while Kevin Kotredes, Robbie Hayes and Will Prescott all had a goal and an assist. Jamison Cocklin dished out three assists, Matt Grimes notched two assists and Tony Lorenz recorded an assist as Brewer improved to 9-6. Spencer Dunbar and Anthony Puiaa combined for nine saves on 11 shots.

For Bonny Eagle of Standish, Jeff Fox and Andy Slefinger netted a goal each and Ryan Rand distributed an assist. Chad O’Donnell stopped 38 of 47 shots for the 2-12-1 Scots.

Hampden 3, Gardiner 1

At Kennebec Ice Arena in Augusta, Greg Taylor tallied a goal and two assists to lift Hampden over Gardiner.

Adam Standley added a goal and an assist, Greg Brown fired in a goal and Dan Perkins recorded an assist for the 9-6 Broncos. Garrett McGowan turned back 33 of 34 shots.

For 9-5-1 Gardiner, Kevin McKay scored on a pass from Chris Rogers. Spencer Lahaie notched 18 saves on 21 shots.

John Bapst 11, Old Town 2

At Sawyer Arena in Bangor, Zac Means racked up five goals and two assists as the Crusaders rolled over the Indians.

John Motta scored three goals and had an assist. Colby Therriault scored once and had two assists. Billy Chapman had a goal and an assist, and Brandon Cossette added a goal. Taylor Lynn had three assists, Kyle Maynard had two and Kim Meagher had one. Jamie Hardy made 18 saves on 20 shots.

Nick St. Louis scored twice for Old Town. Chris Rand and J.P. Snow combined for 26 saves on 37 shots.

Foxcroft 4, Win-Dale 3

At Kents Hill Arena, Ryan McNulty’s goal on assists from Corey Beaulieu and Josh Sands with 8:17 remaining in the final period proved to be the difference as Foxcroft topped Win-Dale.

Beaulieu also fired in a pair of goals and Hunter Wilbur netted a goal. Brandon Johnson added two assists and Ethan Annis recorded an assist for the Ponies. Dan Perkins stopped 19 of 22 shots.

Nate Frechette sparked Win-Dale with two goals and an assist. Bruce Brooks notched a goal and Aaron White and Lee St. Hilaire both had assists. Brandon Ellis turned back 15 of 19 shots.

Orono 5, Presque Isle 2

At the Forum in Presque Isle, Pat Skall scored two goals and assisted on another and Brano Sranka added a goal and an assist as Orono improved to 15-1.

Mike Merritt and Ian Ferguson tallied a goal and an assist apiece while Will Toner handed out two assists. Nate Faulstick made 29 saves.

Ben Lynch and Sam Shane scored the goals for 8-6 Presque Isle. Steve Laplante and Ben Sirois had assists and Travis Shane made 44 saves.

At Guilford, Jessica Fitzmaurice fired in 19 points to lift Valley of Bingham.

The Cavaliers led by just one at the half but Breanna Belanger scored five of her nine points in the third period to help her team pull away.
