RIDNAUN, Italy – Walt Shepard of Yarmouth helped the U.S. Junior Men’s 30 kilometer Relay Team finish 7th at the World Junior Biathlon Championships on Sunday. This is the second best finish ever for the United States in this competition.

Shepard, who skis for the Maine Winter Sports Center, led off the mass start and hit all ten targets with no extra rounds required, he and other team members will be participating in the Olympics later this years in cross country and biathlon events.
