Knapp sparks Knights’ victory Narraguagus tops Woodland 63-56

WOODLAND – The Narraguagus Knights scored the final seven points of the game in the final minute to beat the Woodland Dragons 63-56 in schoolboy basketball action Tuesday night.

Steven Knapp had 10 of his team-high 16 in the fourth quarter to spark the Knights of Harrington. Luke Shaw and Mike Beal each added 12. Jamie Bailey scored 10.

Jesse Nicholson led Woodland with 14 points. Billy Smith had 12 points and eight rebounds, and Adam Potter scored 10 points and pulled down seven rebounds.

Derek Sinclair dished out eight assists and had four steals to go with his eight points. Saucier also had two blocked shots.

At Millar Arena in Houlton, Matt Michaud tallied two goals, including the game-winning shorthanded goal 3:47 into the extra session off a pass from Rick Michaud, as the Minutemen of Millinocket nipped the Ponies.

Drew Somers knocked in three goals for Stearns and Michaud had two assists. Nick Simon rejected 45 of 49 shots.

Will Mallett, Corey Beaulieu, Brandon Johnson and Will Edgerley scored a goal each for Foxcroft. Josh Sands, Ryan McNulty, Seth Gabarro and Ethan Annis dished out an assist each. Dan Perkins made 23 saves on 28 shots in net.

Bangor 4, Lawrence 2

At Sawyer Arena in Bangor, Corey Mayhew knocked in two goals as the Rams prevailed.

Ben Payson and Pat Frazier added a goal each for 5-8-1 Bangor. Kyle Baker, John Huhn and Jim Brown each dished out an assist. Chris Zielinski made 18 saves on 20 shots.

Will Richard tallied a goal plus an assist for the 4-12-1 Bulldogs of Fairfield. Nate Lovitz added a goal. Matt Clark and Nick Parto notched an assist each. Jake Mitchell rejected 31 of 35 shots.
