KENTS HILL – John Motta scored three goals, one unassisted, to lead the John Bapst Crusaders to a 3-1 high school hockey victory over the Kents Hill Huskies Thursday night.

Colby Theriault and Zach Means each notched an assist for the 12-5 winners and goalie Dan Leighton made 22 saves.

Ethan Cline scored unassisted for 4-7 Kents Hill and Mike Wingert made 35 saves.

Skowhegan 2, Bangor 0

At Sawyer Arena, Tom Hopkins stopped all 23 shots he faced as the Indians blanked the Rams.

Josh Turner and Brett Bilodeau lit the lamp for 10-6 Skowhegan. Micah Johnson and Lake Robitaille tallied an assist each.

Dominic Dinardo rejected 14 of 16 shots for 5-9-1 Bangor.

Orono 14, Old Town 1

At T.J. Ryan Arena in Brewer, Branislav Srnka scored five goals and assisted on two to power the Red Riots.

Pat Skall added three goals and an assist for 17-1 Orono and Mike Merritt notched two goals and three assists. Will Toner contributed a goal and five assists, Evan James had a goal and two assists and Nick Dwyer had a goal and two assists.

Paul Pangburn chipped in with a goal and an assist for the Red Riots while Joey Fulwoood and Mark Caggiano each recorded two assists. Goalie Anthony Hegstrom made nine saves.

Nate Carter scored off a Jared Richards assist for 2-15 Old Town and J.P. Stowe and Chris Rand combined for 25 saves.

Girls basketball

Hampden 49, Brewer 27

At Brewer, junior forward Emmy Russell scored 10 of her game-high 16 points in the third quarter as Hampden outscored Brewer 12-4 to build a comfortable 16-point lead.

Senior guard Megan Magoon contributed 15 points for the winners.

Carolyn McAvoy and Rachel Wing scored seven points apiece for Brewer.
