Four Bangor Police Athletic League boxers advanced to the New England Golden Gloves Championships after scoring wins Saturday at the Northern New England Golden Gloves Championships in Burlington, Vt.
Chad McAuliffe (147 pounds), Robbie Achorn (156), Jason Foley (178) and Josh McAuliffe (178) all won regional titles.
Bangor Detective Paul White was named the Northern New England Coach of the Year, while Josh McAuliffe was named the tournament’s most outstanding fighter and Richard Perreault (139) won the good sportsmanship award after losing a close decision in the final.
The New England Golden Gloves Championships begin tonight in Lowell, Mass.
