MAC gets its own Web site

Fans who want to keep track of their favorite Maine Athletic Conference teams can do so with a click of a computer mouse, thanks to the efforts of the University of Maine-Fort Kent.

Assistant Web manager Neal Jandreau has designed, and will keep current, the official Internet presence of the MAC.

“Getting our Web site up and running has been a priority for the conference,” said Rene Cloukey, the MAC’s information director.

“It will not only provide those wanting to learn about the organization a great introduction to the MAC, but also provide students, faculty, and staff at member colleges and universities the opportunity to keep updated on the latest happenings on a regular basis,” he said.

In addition to offering statistics and information on upcoming MAC events, the site will include links to official Web sites of each member institution.

“We wanted to design this Web site to be as user-friendly as possible,” Jandreau said. “Anyone visiting it can click on a Maine map with the member schools and be instantly transported to that site for further information on athletics, academics or campus life at that school.”

Cloukey will provide Jandreau with updated information on a weekly basis, including statistics, standings and honors.

The new Web site can be reached at http://mac.umfk.maine.edu.
