CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. – Three Marines who were killed during a training exercise when their 5-ton truck overturned were remembered as committed individuals who were preparing themselves for war.
A memorial service was held Wednesday for the three corporals, Daniel Hudson and Benjamin Worchel, both 21, and 20-year-old Aaron Pinnetti.
Three M-16 rifles were placed with their muzzles stuck in the ground and combat helmets placed on top as a silent tribute to the fallen officers.
The Marines’ bodies will be sent to their home states for burial. Hudson is from Bolingbrook, Ill., Pinnetti from Bristol, Maine, and Worchel from San Antonio, Texas.
