FRANKLIN – A local man was arrested Tuesday on a charge of aggravated assault after he allegedly beat another man with a shotgun, according to police.
Lawrence Scott, 56, reportedly hit a 31-year-old Gouldsboro man several times over the head with a 12-gauge shotgun Tuesday afternoon, according to Hancock County Sheriff’s Deputy Corey Bagley.
Information about what precipitated the assault was unavailable.
The younger man was taken to Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth with two lacerations to the top of his head and a deep laceration next to his right eye, Bagley said.
Scott was arrested at his Route 200 home and taken to the Hancock County Jail without further incident, Bagley said.
