Ashley Marble, Woodland senior, scored 28 points, including a 4-for-6 effort from 3-point range, to lead the Dragons in their win. She also scored Woodland’s first 11 points of the game.

Eddie Carey, Bangor Christian junior forward, 17 points and 20 rebounds, and five assists in a win over East Grand.

Nicole Corbin, Van Buren senior, had 21 points for the Crusaders against Woodland.

Shelby Pickering, Lee freshman, scored 23 points and grabbed a team-high 13 rebounds.

Alvin Beal, Jonesport-Beals senior forward, 21 points and 13 rebounds in an upset victory over Greenville.

Plays of the day

Katie Harris, Lee sophomore, hit two 3-pointers in the second half, both from about 24 feet out.

Eddie Carey, Bangor Christian junior, stole a pass and sped downcourt for a slam dunk, but caught too much of the rim with the ball, which bounced about eight feet up and then down through the net early in the first quarter of the Patriots semifinal win.

Noteworthy statistics

Kaitlyn Leeman, Woodland sophomore, 18 points, seven steals, six assists.

The Lee girls outrebounded Bangor Christian 46-44 despite the Patriots’ starting frontcourt of 6-foot-1, 5-11 and 5-10. The Pandas’ tallest player is 5-9 Shelby Pickering.

Tyler Muzzy, Greenville senior forward, had 21 points and 14 rebounds, but was 9-for-20 from the field in a loss to Jonesport-Beals.

“As a team I don’t think we shot that well.” Woodland’s Kaitlyn Leeman after the Dragons made 33 of 64 field goals (51.5 percent) and five of nine 3-pointers in their semifinal win. Leeman had 18 points and went 8-for-15 from the floor.

“It’s hard to get the ball to him. Once we get it to him, he’ll score, but it’s a hard job to get it to him.” Jonesport-Beals coach Ordie Alley, whose team got it to Alvin Beal enough for him to notch 21 points and 13 rebounds.
