GORHAM – Brianne Bognanno scored 16 points Wednesday night to lead Emmanuel College of Boston to a 63-51 victory over the University of Southern Maine in an NCAA Division III Northeast Regional first-round game.

Bowdoin College of Brunswick will play host Emmanuel for a second-round game on Saturday.

Melaine Sloan contributed 14 points while Julia Dermirer chipped in with 10 for the winners.

Jaime Zahm scored 17 points for Southern Maine while Meg Cressler added 11 and Jess Libby put in 10.
