Milo arts center project receives $7,500 grant for theater lighting

MILO – Ethelyn and Edwin Treworgy, who co-chair the Milo Town Hall Arts Center Project, have announced the recent receipt of a $7,500 grant from the Maine Community Foundation to be used to help fund the installation of theater lighting for the new arts center.

The Milo Town Hall Arts Center Project, sponsored by Three Rivers Kiwanis Club of Milo-Brownville and supported by alumni of Milo schools, town officials and other community members, involves the renovation of the 75-year-old Milo Town Hall Wingler Auditorium and the addition of a first-rate performing arts center to the multiuse facility. Theater lighting and sound systems, along with new curtains, new chairs, and newly painted walls and ceiling, will provide schoolchildren in SAD 41 with a theater and will give the community a place for plays, concerts and other cultural events.

More information about the project can be obtained by writing to: Ethelyn and Edwin Treworgy, 5 Alton St., Milo 04463, or by calling 943-7748.
