At Girdwood, Alaska, Bates College senior Kyle Hildebrand finished 11th of 35 skiers in the giant slalom at the NCAA National Collegiate Skiing Championships on Wednesday.

Hildebrand, of Waitsfield, Vt., was in ninth place after the first run, but could not hold onto his top 10 slot, which would have earned him his fourth career All-American honor.
