Dr. Dale S. Solomon, a research forester and senior scientist with the USDA Forest Service, was elected a fellow of the Society of American Foresters, an honor achieved by only 5 percent of all SAF members. Solomon has worked at the forefront of forest growth research and computer modeling for more than 30 years. With more than 100 publications to his credit, Solomon developed the forest growth model FIBER, used throughout New England to analyze timber output and sustainability. Solomon heads the Forest Management Research Cooperative at the University of Maine at Orono.
