Do you think the Legislature should approve a casino in Kittery?

No. It’s just against our faith to gamble. It’s not a good thing to have, because you’re not being a good steward of God’s money.

Walter Woods, Freedom

Yes. It would bring more business to the area, and be a bigger tourist trap to bring more money into the area. Plus there’s nothing to do in Maine.

Sarah King, Milford

I think they ought to have it. If people are going to gamble, they’ll go out of state and spend their money, so they might as well spend it here.

Fred Merchant, Hampden

Sure, why not? It’s not going to hurt anything.

Tiffany Voyou, Bangor

Yes. If it stimulates the economy and provides jobs for Mainers, then I think it would be all right.

Shannon Fisher, Orono

Yes, they should. It’s extra income for the state. I think they should put one in Bangor on the waterfront, too, to pay for the Bangor Auditorium.

Floyd Gonzales, Brewer

I don’t think they should. Overall it might seem like a good idea, but it would take away from the simplicity people come here to see in Maine.

Jessica Shook, Bangor

No. We used to live in Groton, Conn., and that’s where they put Foxwoods, and I saw what it did to that place – raising prices and cheating people out of their money.

Dirk Schnarr, Bangor
