EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – A man has been summoned to court today after another man was shot twice during the weekend in the parking lot of a New Brunswick shopping center.
The victim, believed to be an off-duty fisheries officer, was taken to a hospital after the incident Saturday outside the Centre Madawaska shopping center in Edmundston, across the border from Madawaska, Maine.
He was in good condition after surgery late Saturday, said Gilles Lee, deputy chief of the Edmundston police. No one else was injured in the incident.
An off-duty police officer, who was in a store at the mall, apprehended a suspect near the scene.
