BANGOR – Twenty-five teams with more than 350 participants from all over Maine competed over the weekend at the Bangor Auditorium during the Sixth Annual Wal-Mart Junior High School/Elementary Cheerleading Championships.
First in the Peewee A division were the Bonny Eagle Scots from Buxton. The Albion Elementary Bears took first and the Glenburn Elementary chargers placed second in Peewee B. In the Mixed division the Lamoine Consolidated Lions and the Calais Middle School Blue Devils placed first and second, respectively. In Junior High A, the Rockland Middle School Eagles took first and the Houlton Junior High Shiretowners finished second. Placing first and second in the Junior High B were the Holy Cross JHS Crusaders of Lewiston and the Monmouth Middle School Mustangs.
