OSCEOLA, Fla. – Leigh Ann Hlywak nailed two home runs and a single for seven RBIs and scored three runs in the first game to pace the University of Maine to a pair of college softball victories Wednesday.
The Black Bears defeated Liberty University of Lynchburg, Va., 13-1 in the opener and Wagner College of New York City 2-1 in the second game.
In the first game, Jessica Brady hit three singles for one RBI while Katherine Churchill contributed with three singles and a run scored for the Bears.
Lindsay Schwind had an RBI single for Liberty while Amanda Maska and Tiffany Johnson had a double apiece.
In the second game, Erica Sobel hit a double and a single to help lead the Black Bears.
Jennifer Merchant had two singles while Rachel Bain added an RBI single and Nicole Taylor scored a run.
Natalie Stollmyer had an RBI on three singles for Wagner while Rebecca Shields also added three singles.

At Lake Wales, Fla., Drew Lewis hit a two-run homer and two singles to lead Warner Southern to the win with four RBIs.
Rick Rodriguez contributed with a triple and two singles for two RBIs.
Mike Worcester, Craig Harvey and Jason Folsom each had two singles for Husson.

Saint Joseph’s sweeps Illinois College
At Fort Myers, Fla., Jesse LaCasse hit a home run and knocked in five runs to help Saint Joseph’s College of Standish sweep a doubleheader from Illinois College.
The Monks won the opener 14-0, then took the second game 5-0.
Mike Cowperthwaite scattered three hits over five innings to win Game 1. The Monks scored seven runs in the first three innings.
Howard Rutherford provided two singles, two RBIs and walked four times in the twinbill. Jim Bevcar added three singles. Nolan Beckwith earned the win in Game 2.
