FORT MYERS, Fla. – Brent Dan pitched a four-hitter in the opener, then Derek McIntosh knocked in four runs with four singles in the second game as Saint Joseph’s College of Standish posted a sweep of Judson College (Ill.) Thursday at Terry Park.
The Monks won the opener 5-2, then took the second game 16-3.
In the first game, Dan prevailed despite being backed by only two hits. He struck out six and walked two.
Justin Lambert and Jake Rodden stroked RBI singles for the Monks. Ryan Koerner had a single and an RBI for Judson.
In Game 2, McIntosh paced Saint Joseph’s 16-hit attack. Derek Awalt singled twice and knocked in three runs and Lucas Hanington added two singles and two RBIs.
Matt Vasil and Jesse LaCasse added two singles each behind Charlie Buker, who allowed three hits and two runs in five innings.
Ryan Koerner singled twice for Judson.

At Orlando, Fla., the Maine Black Bears rallied for two runs in the top of the seventh but were held off by Central Florida and lost two games during their spring trip.
Central Florida beat Maine in the second game 5-4 and Monmouth shut out the Bears 5-0 in the first contest.
Janie Shinhoster doubled, singled and drove in two runs for Central Florida. Erica Sobel doubled and drove in two runs for Maine and Aliesha Rautenberg had a single and two RBIs.
In the first game, Kim Lyall allowed only five hits in shutting out the Bears. Elissa Connell doubled, singled and drove in a run for Monmouth and Dana Pasini had three RBIs.
Jessica Brady singled twice for Maine.
