OLD TOWN – The Class B boys ran off 18 unanswered first-half points en route to a 102-97 high school basketball victory over Class A in the Big East Senior All-Star game at MacKenzie Gym Tuesday night.
Class A prevailed in the girls game with a 65-62 victory over Class B.
In the boys game, five players hit double figures to power the Class B team. James Skehan and Jason Frenette of Houlton scored 17 and 14 points, respectively, to lead the all-stars. Caribou’s Joel Griffeth and Tyler Giles each chipped in with 12 points and Ellsworth’s John Morse netted 13.
Presque Isle’s Nick Casavant led the Class A team with 14 points while Old Town’s Shawn Kenniston and John Bapst of Bangor’s Zev Myerowitz each put in 13. Trent Estes of Nokomis of Newport chipped in with 11 points and Brewer’s Lon Drillen and John Bapst’s Bryan Snyder each netted 10.
In the girls game, Hampden’s Megan Magoon scored 14 points to lead the Class A team while Bangor’s Katherine Miller chipped in with 13.
Houlton’s Hannah Socoby and Sarah Beasley paced the Class B team with 12 and nine points, respectively.
