LEWISTON – A man robbed Northeast Bank at gunpoint Wednesday and fled with an unspecified amount of cash.

No customers were in the bank at the time of the 12:30 p.m. holdup, and no shots were fired, police said.

The partially masked man ordered a female teller to hand over cash.

The robber, described as a short man wearing a red sweat shirt and jeans, eluded police who fanned out around the Lisbon Street neighborhood.
