PORTLAND – Mel Anglestad of the Portland Pirates has been named the team’s HG Insurance/K & K Insurance Man of the Year.

The award honors the player judged to have made the greatest commitment to his community and charitable organizations throughout the course of the AHL season.

Angelstad is now a finalist for the AHL’s Yanick Dupre Memorial Award as the league’s man of the year.
