As a parent and a teacher, I am very concerned about the proposed cuts to the children’s programs at the University. My son was identified as an infant with diabetes and when I looked for preschool programs in the Brewer area, all the local programs would not accept him because they were concerned with liability issues. UMO was the only program in the area that opened their doors.
When it came time to apply to college, UMO was the only school my son wanted to attend. I am glad he will attend school in Maine and look forward to him having the same wonderful college experience as an adult that he had as a child.
