BANGOR – A 45-year-old Bangor man arrested on a charge of assaulting his girlfriend in Bangor earlier this month was indicted Monday by the Penobscot County grand jury.
John Toolin was indicted Monday for aggravated criminal trespass, assault, terrorizing, obstructing the report of a crime or an injury and violation of condition of release.
Toolin was arrested at his girlfriend’s Sunset Avenue home March 12 after he allegedly forced his way into the house and assaulted her.
After Toolin allegedly assaulted the woman and threw a portable phone across the room, the girlfriend managed to run to a neighbor’s house. Police reported that Toolin followed her and pulled her out. Police arrived and arrested him in the back yard.
