GREENSBORO, N.C. – The board of trustees of Guilford College has appointed Kent John Chabotar, a vice president at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, as the college’s eighth president.

The appointment is effective July 1.

Chabotar, 55, has been vice president for finance and administration and treasurer at Bowdoin College since 1991.

He succeeds Don McNemar, who ends six years as president June 30.
