BRUNSWICK – Sophomore Erin Hanley pitched the third no-hitter in Bowdoin softball history in the second game as the Polar Bears swept a doubleheader from Plymouth State College (N.H.) in softball action Monday.
Bowdoin won the opener 2-1, before Hanley led the hosts to a 5-0 win in the nightcap.
Hanley struck out five and walked a batter, while three Panther hitters reached on Bowdoin errors.
Baseball
St. Joseph’s 16, Salem State 9
At Standish, Jesse LaCasse slammed two home runs and drove in three runs to power the Monks.
Lucas Hannigan and Andy Exley each added a homer and two RBIs for the winners while Brad Wheaton doubled, singled twice and drove in three runs.
Chris Coracchini hit a solo homer for Salem State and Steve Pallaria added a two-run shot.
