WATERVILLE – Courtney Corbett collected five hits Tuesday to help lead Thomas College to a doubleheader sweep of the University of Maine-Farmington.
The Terriers won the first game 2-1 and took the nightcap 6-2.
In the first game, Courtney Corbett had a double and two singles and scored two runs to give Thomas the win.
Kati Morrell and Dee Kelly each chipped in with singles behind Devon Burnell, who scattered six hits.
Richelle Dube led UM-Farmington with two singles.
In the second game, Corbett led Thomas with a home run, a single, and two runs scored. Ashley Morris, Kati Morrell and Kelly added two singles apiece behind Burnell, who pitched a five-hitter.
Sophia Stanley hit an RBI single for UM-Farmington while Andrea Benvenuti and Dube added singles.

At Gorham, Betsy Ahearn struck out nine and scattered six hits to shut out Southern Maine.
The two teams failed to score through nine innings in a second game before it was called due to darkness.
Jennifer Plausse’s RBI double in the seventh gave Bridgewater the winning run in the first game.
USM freshman Melissa Henderson was the hard-luck loser as she gave up only three hits and struck out seven.

Bowdoin 13, Southern Maine 5
At Brunswick, Rob Metzler and Seth Paradis each nailed a three-run home run to help give Bowdoin the win.
Kevin Bougie contributed a two-run triple and two RBI singles while Jimmy Shea added a double and three singles for the Polar Bears.
Greg Stacy had a double and two singles for Southern Maine of Gorham while Tyler Delorme chipped in with a double.
