Sarah Ames-Leong of Hampden is heading to the National Junior Olympics of gymnastics, which will be held May 4-5.

Ames-Leong qualified for the national meet at a qualifier this weekend. Competing against gymnasts from New England and New York she was fourth in the all-around competition and finished second on the balance beam. The top seven finishers in each event qualify for the Junior Olympics.

Ames-Leong is accepting donations for her trip to the meet in Landover, Md. The trip is estimated to cost $600. Donations can be sent to Maine Savings Bank, Hampden, Maine, 04444, account number: 14022
