Does the city of Bangor need a new auditorium? The answer is no. We already have an auditorium; a building constructed from brick and steel, and less than 50 years old.
In the city there are many wood frame houses that are 100 years old and older. This building does not need to be replaced. With repair and regular maintenance, it will easily last another 50 years. It will give the city time to establish a building fund for future construction.
At this time a new building can only mean new taxes and we are already overburdened with taxes. Save the auditorium.
