Parritt takes best in show in ’95’ event

BANGOR – Wayne Parritt of Steuben won best of show by people attending Speedway 95’s spring preview show at the Airport Mall this weekend.

Thirty-five cars, drivers, and pit crews participated along with people from the half-scale Winston Cup cars.

Matt Eaton of Deer Isle earned best display honors.

Test and Tune Day is April 28, and racing begins May 5.

Drew wins at Oxford Plains

At Oxford, Gary Drew of Otisfield, last year’s True Value 250 winner, won the PASS Tour New England Dodge Dealers 100 on opening day Sunday at Oxford Plains Speedway.

He overcame Sam Sessions with a maneuver in lapped traffic on lap 52, then held on for the win. Jeff Taylor wound up third.
