MACHIAS – Free legal advice for grandparents, aunts and uncles who are caring for a child or seeking custody of a child will be available during a legal education program at the Centre Street Congregational Church parish house on May 4.

The session will run from 9 a.m. to noon. It is sponsored by Family Connections, a project of Adoptive and Foster Families of Maine and Families and Children Together.

The program will feature a panel presentation about guardianship, adoption and child protective proceedings. Participants will have an opportunity to meet privately with a lawyer.

Child care and refreshments will be provided.

The Centre Street Congregational Church parish house is at 46 Court St., across from the Washington County Courthouse.
