BANGOR – The John Bapst musicians invite all veterans and current members of the armed forces, their spouses and friends to a special spring concert, “Celebrating Freedom,” 11:45 a.m. Friday, April 26.

The concert band and the chorale will keep toes tapping with old favorites, including “You’re a Grand Old Flag” and “The Stars and Stripes Forever.” The band has prepared a special tribute to all branches of the military with “Armed Forces Salute.”

Special guests Alyssa and Breanne McIntyre, ages 11 and 9, will sing Alyssa’s composition, “Yes, We Stand,” inspired by the events of Sept. 11. The John Bapst Chorale will accompany them.

The jazz band, the chamber ensemble and the concert choir will round out the performance.

To reserve a free ticket, call the John Bapst fine arts office from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 22-25, 947-0313. The fine arts office is not open school vacation week.
