PORTLAND, Maine – Steve Morales and Adrian Gonzalez belted homers and Omar Ortiz pitched six strong innings as the Portland Sea Dogs defeated the New Haven Ravens 5-2 Thursday in the Eastern League.

Gonzalez went 3-for-3 with a double and a two-run homer as the Sea Dogs won their second straight and wrapped up the four-game series at 2-2.

John Gall and Bo Hart knocked solo homers for the Ravens.

After Gall’s homer gave New Haven (4-10) a 1-0 lead in the first inning, the Sea Dogs (6-7) replied with three runs in the third. A leadoff double by Gonzalez and Morales’ three-run homer were the key hits.

Gonzalez’ two-run homer padded Portland’s lead to 5-1 in the third, and Hart’s solo shot gave the Ravens their second run in the sixth.

Ortiz (1-2) struck out seven and gave up two hits, including both New Haven homers to pick up the win while Brandon Bowe notched his first save. New Haven starter Scott Prather (1-2) gave up all five Portland runs and took the loss.
