OLD TOWN – Meghan King drilled two doubles and knocked in four runs – all in the first two innings – to lead the Old Town Indians to a 10-2 high school softball victory over John Bapst on Tuesday afternoon.

Renee Thibodeau and Nicole Garrity added RBI singles for the Indians.

Rebecca Stevens rapped two singles and Ashley Cluff added an RBI single for the Crusaders of Bangor.

Hampden 24, Hermon 2

At Hermon, Jillian Yamartino smacked two triples and drove in two runs to lead the Broncos to the five-inning win.

Jessie Aylward knocked in two more Hampden runs with a double and a single while Katie Lindeman and Ashlea Ireland rapped an RBI double each.

Erin Lucey singled twice for Hermon, and Kelly Schaap and Shannon Wiggin stroked RBI singles.

At Mount Desert, Sherri Capponi pitched a five-hitter while striking out eight and walking none to lead the Witches.

Rachel Wing led Brewer’s offense with a triple, single, and one RBI. Sisters Katie Freeman and Amy Freeman each had two singles, and Brewer scored three unearned runs.

Bracey Barker had a triple and a single for Mount Desert Island.

At Howland, Heather Niles hit two singles to help lead Bangor Christian to victory.

Danielle Miller, Kendil Snow and Kayla Sherman each had two singles for the Patriots.

Meagan Cyr, Michelle Batchelder, and Toni Babineau had a single apiece for the Howlers.

At Ellsworth, Mallory Patten collected four RBIs on a double and two singles as the Eagles rolled.

Ashley Dugas tossed a one-hitter, striking out six and walking 13. Becca Saunders added a double and a single and knocked in two for Ellsworth, while Holly Tripp bashed a two-run homer and a single and had three RBIs. Tessa Miller singled twice and knocked in a run.

Amie Thomas singled and scored for the Red Riots.

At Bingham, Josie Rigattieri nailed a grand slam home run to carry Valley past Greenville.

Lauren Dallam hit two doubles for the Lakers, and Amber Lavigne and Jillian Bouley each added a double.

At Mars Hill, Ashley Sutherland hit three singles and drove in four runs and Amanda Martin added two singles and two RBIs as the Hornets won a mutual opener.

Pam Spooner held Central Aroostook to only three hits, striking out one. Pam Bennett added an RBI double.

Chantel Gagnon singled and knocked in two runs for the Panthers. Ashley Clockedile and April Clockedile notched a single apiece.
