MILO – Jeff Osborne drove in four runs with a triple and two singles to lead the Schenck Wolverines to an 8-2 schoolboy baseball victory over the Penquis Patriots Wednesday.

Drew Faye chipped in with an RBI double for the winners from East Millinocket.

Josh Ouellette and Andrew Walker each had an RBI double for the Patriots.

At Millinocket, Stearns’ Dan Frost hurled a two-hit shutout, striking out five and walking two.

Jared Kronholm ripped two singles and drove in a pair for Searsport. Marcus Quisenberry put down a pair of bunt singles and scored a run. Justin Young knocked a two-run single to go with a sacrifice fly.

At Guilford, Karen Nelson prevailed in a pitching showdown with Caterina Riitano to help the Tigers beat the Piscataquis Community Pirates of Guilford.

Nelson allowed three hits while striking out 12 and walking three for the winners and was aided by two Brittany Veazie singles.

Riitano also gave up only three hits and struck out 15 while walking seven. She also cranked a solo home run.

At Harrington, Missy Barbee drove in two runs with a bases-loaded double to highlight a four-run sixth inning that gave the Knights the win and avenged last year’s loss to the Blue Devils in the regional semifinal.

Amanda Barbee and Annie Woodsum also each provided RBI singles in the sixth inning. Ashley Woodward earned the win by allowing only two hits while striking out 16 and walking two. It was the second straight excellent performance for Woodward, who struck out 17 in her team’s win over Sumner of East Sullivan on Monday.
